Company car available from date disappearing from car administration centre

When processing the Year End in Core Expense, the company car available From date under the car administration centre in Core Portal disappears.

When you process your Year End Rollover in Core Expense, if the company car's 'Available From' date disappears in the car administration center, this is because the car Available From date has been manually updated.

When processing your Year End Rollover, the following car BIK values reset:

  • Available From (available_from).

  • Days car unavailable(days_car_unavailable).

  • Dates Free Fuel Provided(dates_free_fuel_prov).

Once you complete the Expense Year End, the system will always clear out the Available From date when no 'Available To' date is populated. The system will automatically set the Available From date to the start of the new tax year, eliminating the need for manual input at the beginning of each new tax year.

For the 'Available To' date, it will not be cleared out during the Expense Year End. If there is an existing Available To date, this indicates that the car has been returned on that date and the record is complete. A new Available To date should only be provided once the car is returned. A new record can be created when the car is available again by updating the Vehicle Cash Equivalent.
