If an error message appears when you attempt to set up a claimant, this is because the claimant is missing a scale code. To resolve this, follow the steps below in back office.

Find the scale code

Before you can add the scale code for the claimant, check the scale code screen in Core Expense for the scale class and scale code. To do this, follow the steps below.

πŸ“Œ Note: Scale codes are case-sensitive.

  1. Click CoreExpense, then click Reference.

  2. Click Reference S - Z, then click Scale Code.

  3. Identify the scale code and scale class required for the claimant.

  4. To exit the screen, click the exit image.png icon.

  5. Click Reference then click Reference C-C.

  6. Click Claimant.

  7. In the Claimant field, search for the claimant number. A pop-up message will display which scale code you need to add.

  8. To add the scale code, click the add image.png icon.

  9. In the Class field, enter the scale class.

Check the employee's effective date

To determine whether you can set up the claimant, examine the employee's effective salary date after reviewing their scale code.

To do this, follow the steps below.

  1. Click CorePersonnel, then click Maintenance.

  2. Click Personnel Profile.

  3. In the Personnel No field, to select an employee, click the list image.png icon.

  4. Click Search, then double-click the Personnel No field for the employee.

  5. From the Select Detail field, select Salary Details to review the current appointment.

  6. To exit the screen, click the exit image.png icon.

πŸ“Œ Note: If the date is in the future, the claimant can't be created yet.

If the above steps don't work, please raise a new case online and reference this article title. When doing so, include the following claimant details:

  • Expense Group

  • Input Location

  • Pay Method

  • Scale Code

  • Scale Class
